Layering & Reciprocating
Reciprocating conveyors are designed for shorter distances where product needs to move accurately from one processing station to another — commonly used to move pans, trays and tins in multiple directions pre- or post-bake.
Featured Application — Automated Cake Layering
Manually layering cakes is labor-intensive and carries a high risk of breakage and product loss. Apex's Cake Layering conveyor automates the process: as bottom layers move down the line after receiving mid-fill icing, top layers travel simultaneously on an upper conveyor and are automatically placed onto
the lower layer before the assembled cake continues to the base icing station.
In-Feed & Out-Feed Conveyors
In-feed and out-feed conveyors manage the flow of product into and out of a process step, reducing manual handling and keeping production moving continuously.
- In-Feed example: Feeding dough into a forming machine, or trays into an oven.
- Out-Feed example: Transporting baked goods out of the oven to a cooling area or packaging line.
